Nordic Colors - 2(3) rom og kjøkken

In my work I have always been interested in issues of the individual versus the group and the mundane and strange everyday life.

My ongoing project, Nordic Colors - 2(3) rom og kjøkken, (room and kitchen), is an exploration of color and bodies in relation to the architecture of one’s home. I use a limited palette in each work, loosely based on the annual commercial interior paint guides and theories of color combinations. I am working with issues of city planning, accessible housing, family life and the absurd drive to create identity and meaning with our homes, especially here in the Nordic countries, and the exhaustion this creates both mentally and bodily.

I work parallel with large oil paintings on canvas and gouache on A3 paper in grid paintings.
