The Corona Portraits
This project was created out of a longing to connect with my friends through the pandemic where we could not meet face to face.
I gave some of my closest girlfriends and family a simple prompt; send me a full figure photo of yourself in your home. I then used the photos they sent me to do one A4 sized gouache drawing of each. I expanded this through the pandemic to more friends, all close to heart but some far away in distance. The photos they sent me had a very intimate feel and I felt like I could connect with them through the time it took to observe, paint and draw each portrait.
